Technical Manager

Responsibilities

All technical aspects of the company’s performance including maintenance of the Technical Database.
Set up and maintenance of process standards.
New product feasibility investigation & costing.
Trials of new/replacement raw materials establishment of standards & feasibility when specifications are changed.
Provision of analytical services to production and printing departments, develop and maintenance of product standards.
Investigation of customer complaints and undertaking of corrective actions in conjunction with Quality Assurance & Technical departments.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance & Technical dept's to resolve non-conformances; analyze KPI & Dept Management data.
Setting up and implementation of World Class Manufacturing Standards and Systems in co-operation with plant and operational managers and monitoring compliance thereto.
Fault finding on production problems.
Implementation of efficiency improvements and recommendations for changeover reductions and scrap and cost saving.
Monitoring of the machinery Planned and Preventive Maintenance System.
Improvement projects as and when directed by Plant Manager.
Resource Planning Ensure job descriptions are available, create teams, monitor performance & training needs.

Applicants must be Mechanical Engineering graduates with extensive can manufacturing experience in a reputed metal packaging and printing company. Ideally this experience should include aerosol, dry food and general line container manufacture.
Candidates should also be experienced in World Class Manufacturing principles and fully conversant with ISO 9001:2008 practices.
The position also has an important interface with the Quality Department. He also will be leading a team.
Reporting to the Plant Manager.
